Yasuko Furumi

Born on 5 February 1998, she is a graduate of Shōwa Academia Musica in Kawasaki, and is now continuing her studies with Fumiko Eguchi at Shōwa Graduate School of Music. She has played with ensembles including the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Tokyo and Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra in Yokohama. She has performed in concert halls in Japan, Italy, Poland, Romania and the US. In 2019 the Nippon Columbia label released her debut CD. Her successes in competition include first prize in the International Piano Competition in Takamatsu, the International Chopin Competition in Asia and the PTNA Piano Competition in Tokyo; second prize in the International Piano Competition in Hamamatsu; and third prize in the International Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz.
