The International Aeolus Competition for Wind Instruments has firmly established itself as a worldwide recognized stage for wind instrument players flute, oboe, bassoon, saxophon, trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba.

The Organizer of the "Aeolus" Competition is the Sieghardt Rometsch Foundation. The Robert Schumann Academy is the home of the Competition, which is also supported by the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and the highly regarded German Radio Station Deutschlandfunk.
The Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments has firmly established itself as a worldwide recognized stage for wind instrument players. Participation at the Aeolus Competition has proven to be a solid and firm foundation for a worldwide career as a musician. It is a first address for brass and wind players. Rotating between a total of nine disciplines, the next edition of the Aeolus Competition will present Flute, Saxophone, and Trombone from September 11 to 17, 2028, and Horn, Trumpet, and Tuba in September 2029.
