Werther Quartet

More information

Winner of the XXXIX "Abbiati" Prize, the 2020 "Farulli" Prize, Third Prize at the Pinerolo International Chamber Music Competition and Third Prize at the "Trio di Trieste" International Chamber Music Competition, the Werther Quartet, is now one of Italy's rising chamber music ensembles on the rise in the national and international concert scene. In 2022, they are awarded the Diploma of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, receiving a "special mention for outstanding chamber music skills," an award never given in the more than 80-year history of the Academy's Courses.

Founded in Rome in 2016, they have been a member of the "Le Dimore del Quartetto" circuit since 2018. He trained at the School of Music in Fiesole and at the Conservatorio "A. Boito" in Parma in the chamber music school of the Parma Trio and Pierpaolo Maurizzi, teachers who still hold an important point of reference for the Quartet, and have deepened the study of the repertoire during important Festivals and Campuses, including the International Chamber Music Campus organized by Jeunesse Musicale Deutschland and the Sessions of the European Chamber Music Academy.
Also of great importance is the advice of Rainer Schmidt (second violin of the Hagen Quartett, professor at the Hochschule für Musik Basel) and Patrick Jüdt (director of the Bern ECMA Session).
