Saeyoon Chon

South Korean pianist Saeyoon Chon won First Prize at the 2018 Dublin International Piano Competition and has been a major prizewinner at numerous international piano competitions, including the Maria Canals, Vendome, Valencia Iturbi, Hanoi, Los Angeles, Orford, Cooper, Isidor Bajić, Seoul, and Hilton Head International Piano Competitions. At the Verbier Festival, he received the Tabor Award as the best pianist in the festival's soloist programs.

Chon made his New York debut at Carnegie Hall and has since performed at renowned venues such as the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Église in Verbier, Seoul Arts Center in Seoul, Salle Cortot in Paris, Koerner Hall in Toronto, Lincoln Center in New York, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Salle Bourgie in Montreal, Jinji Lake Concert Hall in Suzhou, Hong Kong City Hall, and many more.

As a chamber musician, Chon regularly performs at prestigious festivals, including the Verbier Festival, Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, Rockport Chamber Music Festival, and the Hamburg Chamber Music Festival at the Elbphilharmonie. He has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Midori Goto, Barry Shiffman, Nicholas Kitchen, Denis Goldfeld, Michael Kannen, Thomas Carroll, Jens Lindemann, and the Calidore String Quartet.

A graduate of the Juilliard School, Chon is an alumnus of the Verbier Festival Soloist Academy and a former fellow at the Ravinia Festival Steans Music Institute. He studied piano with distinguished teachers, including Robert McDonald, John O’Conor, Jeffrey Swann, Hyoung-Joon Chang, James Anagnoson, and Leon Fleisher.

As a soloist, Chon has performed with prominent orchestras, including those of Cleveland, Seoul, Hong Kong, Valencia, Hilton Head, Astana, and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin. Since 2022, he has served as an artist-in-residence and artistic advisor at HIMS Academy in Hafenpreppach, Bavaria, Germany.
