Piotr Pawlak studies the piano with Professor Waldemar Wojtal at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. He performed in concert in the USA, Russia, the UK, Spain, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Georgia, Denmark, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, and many locations across Poland. In October 2019 he toured China. He played alongside the symphony orchestras of Rzeszów, Jelenia Góra, and Gdańsk, the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, and the Sopot Chamber Philharmonic.

He is the recipient of scholarships funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Minister of National Education, Prime Minister of Poland, head of the Pomerania province executive body, Mayor of Gdańsk, and Krystian Zimerman. In 2018 he received the Pomeranian Artistic Award for rising talent and in 2019 was handed the Mayor of Gdańsk Award for Young Creators of Culture.

Mr Pawlak won a number of international piano competition prizes, including: 1st prize and award for the best improvisation in the 11th Darmstadt International Chopin Piano Competition (2017), 2nd prize in the 1st Beijing International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (2016), 2nd prize in the 1st Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (2019), 1st prize in the 2nd International Competition for Young Pianists in Kraków (2019), 2nd prize (1st was not awarded) in the 8th International Chopin Competition in Budapest (2018), and 1st prize in the 3rd International Leopold Godowski Piano Competition for Young Virtuosos (2017). He took part in the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2015) and qualified for the 18th edition of the event (2021) as the winner of the 2nd prize in the Polish National Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2020). He also plays the organ, improvises, and is a prizewinner of the International Mathematical Olympiad.
