Meng Zou was born in China and started to play the violin at the age of 5. From 2014 to 2020 he studied at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music with professor Li Kaixiang, where he made his stage debut along with Mark Gibson and SCOM Symphony Orchestra in 2014.
Prizes he has won include the 2nd prize at the Hong Kong International Violin Competition in 2015, 6th prize at the Chengdu Guangya International Violin Competition in 2019, 1st Prize at the Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition in 2023 and 3rd prize at the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition Tokyo in 2024, the 1st prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition in 2025.
He also took part in many masterclasses with well-known artists, such as Shlomo Mintz, Midori Goto, Vadim Gluzman and many others. Since 2020, he has been studying at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under the guidance of the renowned violinist and professor Qian Zhou.
