Lilia Pocitari studies in master’s at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with professor Ulf Wallin, after obtaining her bachelor’s degree at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv in the class of Ilya Konovalov, concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. She participated in masterclasses by Ştefan Gheorghiu, Alexander Vinnitsky, Pinchas Zukerman, Christian Tetzlaff, Silvia Marcovici, Sherban Lupu, Philip Bride and Marine Iashvili. She won prizes in international competitions in Romania, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia and Khazakhstan: first prize at the International Competition “Jeunesses Musicales”, Bucharest, Grand Prix and the special prize of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) at the International Balys Dvarionas Competition for Young Pianists and Violinists, Vilnius, as well as Gold Medal at the International Delphic Games in Astana, among others. She has performed under the baton of Julian Rachlin at the Wiener Konzerthaus with the Wiener Kammerorchester, with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra in Finland, as well as at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv conducted by Zubin Mehta. Apart from that, she collaborated with conductors Patrick Strub, Juhani Numminen, Oleg Palymski, Vasile Goia, Neil Thompson, Vladimir Spivakov.
