Krzysztof Michalski was born in 2003 in Tarnobrzeg, southern Poland. There he began his musical education, which then took place at Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna II st. im. Władysława Żeleńskiego in Krakow. At the age of 10, he began working under the artistic direction of Henryk Zarzycki, an exceptional cello teacher, who awarded him a scholarship to the EAFIT University in Medellín, Colombia, enabling him to study there during the 2015 and 2016 vacations. 

He won several international and national competitions in Europe and the United States, most notably 1st prize at the Johansen International Competition for Young String Players in Washington DC, USA in 2018, and 2nd prize at the ARD International Music Competition in 2024, and 3rd prize at the Brussels Cello Competition in Brussels, Belgium, 2020, 3rd prize at the First Zoltán Kodály International Competition in Debrecen, Hungary, 2022.
