Karisa Chiu has won top prizes from numerous competitions such as the Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition, the Stulberg International String Competition, the Irving M. Klein International String Competition and the Cooper International Competition. In addition to these awards, Karisa has performed on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago and appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including the Munich Radio Orchestra, Montgomery Symphony and Kishwaukee Symphony, among others. Karisa is currently a student at the Curtis Institute of Music where she studies with Ida Kavafian. Previously, she studied with Almita Vamos and her father, Cornelius Chiu.
