Christos Fountos was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1997. He began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 under Prof. Miroslav Gospodinov, and at age 17, he debuted as soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. A year later, he moved to London for further piano studies, and under Philip Fowke in particular, where he eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Music, a Master of Music and an Artist Diploma with full marks and numerous prizes. He had studied with full scholarship. Since then, he has been active as a soloist, with recent performances of piano concerts by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Ravel and others.
He has a busy concert schedule as the pianist of the Waldstein Trio, that has performed at the Brahms Saal of the Wiener Musikverein, Beethovenhaus Bonn, and other venues in Europe.
He is a junior fellow at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and a Silver Medal winner and Young Artist of The Musicians’ Company of the City of London.
