Chaowen Luo began to study violin playing at the age of seven and a half with Xiao Sishan. Later he studied with Prof. Huang Chenxing, and was admitted to the Primary School attached to Shanghai Conservatory of Music with the highest score. He was then admitted to the Middle School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent results and studied under Prof. Wang Hong and Zhang Jia, which was followed by undergraduate study with Prof. Tong Weidong at Central Conservatory of Music as a “recommended student exempted from the graduate exam”.
He participated in professional events and performances and has collaborated with orchestras all over the world, receiving unanimous praise. In 2016, he was invited to perform a recital at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music in Russia. In 2017, he performed with Master Vengerov in Qingdao. In 2018, he was selected to participate in Seiji Ozawa Music Juku, and toured in Japan. In 2019, he went to Spain to participate in the European String Festival and acted as the concert leader. He is the 1st prize winner of the ISANGYUN Competition in 2024, and he was a semifinalist at the 56th Paganini International Competition; the only player who has been studying violin in China at the 12th Sibelius International Competition; and the 3rd place winner at the 17th Tchaikovsky International Music Competition. He is the Gold Medalist of the 2023 Violin Competition of "The Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music".
