6th Prize winner, 9th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1975). Diana Kacso studied piano in her hometown, Rio de Janeiro. In 1971, she graduated from the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música in C. P. de Mello’s and Elzira Amabile’s piano classes. Between 1972 and 1975 she studied in the US at the Juilliard School of Music with Sascha Gorodnitzki.
Ms. Kacso has won awards at the following international competitions: 3rd Prize at the International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro (1973), 6th Prize at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw (1975), 2nd Prize at the Artur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (1977), 2nd Prize at the International Piano Competition in Leeds (1978), 1st Prize at the International Music Performance Competition in Viña del Mar (1978), 2nd Prize at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition (1982).
Ms. Kacso has also participated in the following competitions: Montreal (1976), Van Cliburn Competition in Fort Worth (1977), Australian Piano Competition in Sydney (1977), Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (reached final stage, 1978), William Kapell in College Park (1982) and Queen Elizabeth in Brussels (1983).
She has performed throughout the Americas and recorded for radio and television.
