The 23rd edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) — Voice 2025 — took place in Montréal from May 25 to June 6, 2025, showcasing 24 emerging classical singers from around the world. In the final on June 6, five finalists performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under conductor Patrick Summers, before an international jury chaired by Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka.

Frankfurt-based mezzo-soprano Fleuranne Brockway emerged as Grand Laureate (1st prize), earning approximately CAD 70 000 in prize money and grants plus an Opéra de Montréal engagement. Tenor Junho Hwang from the Berlin Unter den Linden opera studio, who had just won Third Prize at last year´s Mirjam Helin Competition in Helsinki, earned 2nd prize (CAD 25 000), and baritone Theodore Platt from the Copenhagen Opera House secured 3rd prize (CAD 20 000).  Additionally, the Art Song Prize was awarded to South American baritone Laureano Quant.

With more than CAD 160 000 in total awards and grants, Voice 2025 reaffirmed CMIM’s role as a prestigious springboard for the next generation of operatic talent.
