Ningbo - Ningbo International Vocal Competition

The 2026 Ningbo International Vocal Competition, co-sponsored by the People’s Government of Ningbo Municipality and the Central Conservatory of Music, is an international music competition open to the whole world. As a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), the 2026 Ningbo International Vocal Competition will promote international cultural exchange and cooperation between China and foreign countries, boost the prosperity and development of vocal art and enrich people’s spiritual and cultural life by providing a stage for vocal performers from various countries to showcase their talents and enhance mutual learning.

Since the launching of the China International Vocal Competition in Ningbo in 2005, it has attracted over 1600 Chinese and foreign contestants from over 40 countries from five continents. Many domestic and foreign singers outperformed in the International Vocal Competition have become famous young singers in various countries. The famous young singers from the competition stage in China include Wu Bixia (lyric coloratura soprano, professor of China Conservatory of Music, Master’s supervisor), Sun Li (famous baritone singer, president of Fujian Provincial Opera and Dance Drama Theater, chairman of Fujian Grand Theater), Wang Chuanyue (young tenor singer of the Opera Troupe of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, champion of the 15th Youth Singer Competition, teacher of the Central Conservatory of Music), and Xie Tian (Chinese contemporary tenor singer, director of the Voice and Opera Department of the Central Conservatory of Music).
