Helsinki - Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition

Organised since 1984, the Mirjam Helin Competition counts among the most prestigious competitions of its kind in the world.

Agenda

The Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition is recognized as one of the most prestigious vocal competitions in the world. Designed for outstanding young singers, it is renowned for its high artistic standards, exciting repertoire, superb prizes, and distinguished jury.

Many of its former prizewinners—such as Olaf Bär, Elīna Garanča, René Pape, Karita Mattila, Nadine Sierra, Andrè Schuen, and Julia Lezhneva—have gone on to achieve international acclaim in the world of opera and concert singing.

Prizes:

1st Prize: €60,000

2nd Prize: €40,000

3rd Prize: €30,000

4th–6th Prizes: €10,000 each

Additional cash prizes will also be awarded, and successful participants will be offered opportunities to perform in lied recitals, appear as soloists with orchestras, and receive career mentoring.

The 10th edition of the Competition will take place in Turku, Finland. The final round will be held at the new Turku Music Hall Fuuga, featuring the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by John Storgårds.
