Samuel Stopford

The tenor Samuel Stopford, born in Great Britain, received his training from 2018 to 2024 at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2023 he took part in the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, and in 2024 he participated in the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival.
In 2025 he won First Prize at the 12th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition. Since the 2024/25 season, he has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera, where his roles include Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor), First Armed Man / Second Priest (Die Zauberflöte), Parpignol (La bohème), and Il Conte di Lerma (Don Carlo).
Roles in the 2025/26 season include Gaston (La traviata), Malcolm (Macbeth), Pong / the Prince of Persia (Turandot), Jaquino (Fidelio), and Peter in the new production of Die englische Katze.
