Risa Toho, born in Tokyo, studied organ at the Tokyo University of the Arts with Prof. Rie Hiroe and is currently continuing her studies in Prof. Matthias Maierhofer's organ class at the Freiburg University of Music. During her studies in Tokyo, she received the ATAKA Award, the Ryohei Miyata Prize and the AKANTHAS Music Award from Tokyo University of the Arts. She was also awarded the First Prize in Church Music in Nagasaki. She played the Symphonie Concertante by Joseph Jongen as a soloist with the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra Tokyo. She has been selected for the Organist-Intership Program at Yokohama Minatomirai Hall. In 2022 Risa Toho received a scholarship from the Meiji Yasuda Cultural Foundation. Risa Toho was awarded second prize at the "Maria Hofer" International Organ Competition in Kitzbühel.
