He has also won many international awards at renowned piano competitions. Particularly noteworthy are the first prizes at no less than three international competitions – in 2014 at the International Music Competition in Cologne as well as in 2015 at the Aarhus International Piano Competition in Denmark and the Premio Vila de Xàbia in Spain. Most recently he won first prize at the Karlrobert Kreiten Memorial Competition at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Already at the age of twelve Philipp Scheucher performed with his teacher Markus Schirmer at the Vienna Musikverein. With him he received his pianistic fine-tuning at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, where he received important impulses for his musical education at the age of ten as a young student of Maria Zgubic. He is currently receiving further inspiration from Ilja Scheps at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik und Tanz. His active cooperation with renowned conductors and orchestras such as the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Dirk Kaftan, the Großes Orchester Graz “recreation” under Michael Hofstetter and Mei-Ann Chen, the K&K Philharmonic Orchestra or the WDR Funkhausorchester under Alexander Prior is also worth mentioning.
