Lara Morger

Mezzo-soprano Lara Morger was born in the scenic Swiss canton of Obwalden. She began her musical education with the violin and bassoon before dedicating herself fully to singing. These days, she appears regularly in opera and oratorio productions as well as chamber music concerts throughout Switzerland, Germany, Spain and France.
Lara initially studied bassoon and baroque bassoon in Zürich and Leipzig, where she also began her vocal training with Prof. Jeanette Favaro-Reuter and Marek Rzepka. In 2020, she finished her bachelor’s degree with distinction in Opera, Concert and Pedagogy with Prof. Dorothea Wirtz at the Musikhochschule Freiburg and began her master’s studies with Tanja Baumgartner at the Hochschule der Künste Bern.
At the 2019 International Bach Academy Stuttgart, she attended master classes with Emma Kirkby, Peter Kooij and James Gilchrist, among others. Her musical training was further enriched by master classes with Christiane Iven, Ulrike Hofbauer and Ton Koopman.
