Ivan Bessonov was born in 2002. He began to study the piano at the age of 6. He is currently a student of the Moscow Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory (Vadim Rudenko’s class). He presented his recital at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2016; he went on to perform with the Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra and the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra. He is a prize-winner at the International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2015, St. Petersburg, Grand Prix), the International Anton Rubinstein Competition The Piano Miniature in Russian Music (2016, St. Petersburg), the St. Petersburg City Government Young Talents Competition (2016, 1st prize), the International Grand Piano Competition (2016, audience prize), the International Astana Piano Passion Competition (2017, 1st prize), and Young Talents of Russia Competition (2017, 1st prize). Bessonov has collaborated with conductors Valery Gergiev, Alexander Sladkovsky and others. He has performed recitals in Russia and abroad.
