Gabriel Michaud was born in 2003 in Saint-Herblain near Nantes and started percussion at the age of 7, at the music school of Machecoul in Loire-Atlantique, before joining the Conservatoire de Musique de Nantes. He is currently studying at the Haute École de Musique de Genève.

Gabriel Michaud's achievements are as follows:
- April 2021: 3rd prize of the International Marimba Festiva Competition, category AG 2 (15-18 y.o.)
- June 2021: The scholarship Puplinge Classic Festival of the Foundation Marescotti Genève
- June 2021: 1st prize of II International Marimba Competition of Pollença
- September 2021: 2nd prize of Swiss Percussion Competition, category Performance Studierende
- July 2022: 2nd prize the IPCL Luxembourg Competition with the Trio Fragments
