Roma - Girolamo Fantini International Trumpet Competition
AIMART initiated the “Fantini Competition” in 2017 with the mission of offering a life-changing opportunity of growth and artistic development to the “Under35” generation of classical musicians.
Born from an idea of Edda Silvestri, Director of AIMART and Giuliano Sommerhalder, Principal Trumpet of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, international soloist and teacher at AIMART, the Fantini Competition has prestige, prizes and structure that rank it in the top sector of classical music competitions.
Agenda
The "Girolamo Fantini" International Trumpet Competition in Rome was founded by Edda Silvestri, CEO of the Aimart Music Academy in Rome and Giuliano Sommerhalder, international trumpet soloist and Principal Trumpet of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva. It was held twice, in 2017 and 2019.
Its distinctive mark is a second round that promotes versatility, allowing competitors to choose between orchestral excerpts, baroque trumpet, jazz or “freestyle” (including mainstream solo repertoire).
